Description

NGC 6366 is a globular cluster in Ophiuchus. It is rich in elements heavier than helium and is about 11,000 to 12,000 light years away. It is actually approaching us at 122 km/s. 

Ophiuchus is rich in globular clusters, hosting the more famous M10, M12, and M14 globulars. In fact, NGC 6366 is only 3 deg from M14.
